In the past few decades, new types of tile adhesives have been developed, revolutionizing tile installation and making it accesible to the layperson.  Thin-set installation refers to the process of installing tiles on a bed so that the tiles adhere not to each other but to the substrate below.

In order for a cut tile to fit correctly, it must be marked correctly by the shower or bathroom remodeler.  When an entire row of cut tiles is required, do not assume that each tile should be cut to the same size.  Check the distance between the last set tile and the wall or edge.
