When it comes to remodeling a bathroom, showered towers and jetted panels can make your shower feel a little like a water park. Designs started in Europe, where in basic changes to in wall plumbing are often difficult due to the way houses are set up.
Some of these fixtures are attached to the shower wall and only two points and then connected to hot and cold water lines, making them good candidates for a shower remodel in which existing showers are still good. This is a popular style in Virginia Beach. Panels with a variety of water outlets are available. One model, as an example, has seven, including three adjustable showerheads, or full sprays, and then an additional small hand-held sprayer. Top-mounted showers can be adjusted up and down on telescoping posts. Most sprays are also adjustable. If you don't like the intensity of the spray it can be altered to suit your mood as needed. |

Diagonal Bathroom Tile Installation Info | Shower DIY Tips in Virginia Beach
To install tile on the diagonal, you will need diagonal reference lines. Start by marking the usual vertical and horizontal lines. Then attach a pencil to one end of a length of string and a pushpin to the other end. The exact length of string is not important - about 4 feet should be fine for most installations. What is important is that you use the same piece for all of the following measurements.
Insert pushpin at the point where vertical and horizontal reference lines meet. With the pencil, make a mark on each of the four lines radiating from the center; the marks must be equidistant from the center. Remove pushpin and reposition it at one of these marks. Draw a wide arc after this set up.
Remove the pushpin, reposition at another mark and draw an arc that crosses the first one in a bathroom or shower. During a shower renovation, repeat until you have four sets of intersecting arcs. When you snap chalk lines through both sets of opposing arcs, you will have diagonal reference lines. If you want to double-check them, the angle between the diagonal lines and the original reference line should be 45 degrees.
Special Projects - Apart from walls, floors and countertops, there are many other uses for tile, including hearths and fireplace surrounds, tabletops and planters. Although these are common shower tile installations, specific layout principles are not discussed because each situation is unique. Instead, use the general wall, floor and countertop layout principle discussed above.
When considering countertops in a bathroom, generally it is best to lay out a countertop so that the cut tiles are along the back edge. Other possibilities include making a separate backsplash and fastening it to the countertop at an angle that will correct the square; making adjustments at the front edge by attaching a tapered piece of trim; or removing the existing countertop and resetting or replacing it so that it is square. If the counter includes a cooktop or a surface-mounted bathroom sink, you can start by placing full tiles at the edges of the countertop and working towards the cutout.
